Amy Xu, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist who specializes in caring for patients with complex skin conditions. She leads the UChicago Medicine blistering diseases and oral mucosal disorders clinic (URL https://www.uchicagomedicine.org/conditions-services/dermatology/treatments-and-services/blistering-diseases, helping patients suffering from pemphigus, pemphigoid, bullous lupus erythematosus, mucocutaneous lichen planus and more.
Dr. Xu also provides specialized care in supportive oncodermatology, working closely with oncology teams to manage skin side effects of cancer treatments and solid organ or stem cell transplants. She is an active member of the UChicago immune-related adverse events (IrAE) clinical consortium, a multidisciplinary team focused on the care of patients experiencing immunotherapy-related side effects.
Dr. Xu further extends her clinical responsibilities to inpatient dermatology, providing consultative care for hospitalized and critically ill patients with urgent skin conditions, including drug reactions, severe rashes and infectious complications.
