Joyce W. Tang, MD, MPH is a general internist whose clinical work in the Comprehensive Care Program is devoted to providing longitudinal primary care across inpatient and ambulatory care settings for a panel of patients with complex medical and social needs.
Her research interests are focused on developing patient and stakeholder-engaged approaches to improving care delivery. She leads qualitative research efforts for the Comprehensive Care Program and facilitates the CCP Patient and Community Advisory Board.
From an educational perspective, she serves as a Co-Course director for the preclerkship Clinical Skills and Reasoning Course. She also developed and leads an educational program called the Patient Centered Longitudinal Experience, in which preclerkship medical students are partnered with patients with whom they co-navigate their patients’ clinical care experiences across multiple settings. She also has an interest in integrating self-compassion skill-building and practice into routine educational and clinical practice.
