Our faculty is among the very finest in the nation, and we have several top academic and research programs, including the highly ranked biological sciences graduate programs (#13 in US News & World Report) and University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine (#16 in US News & World Report). Our graduate program in Paleontology is currently ranked #1, and our Ecology & Evolution program is ranked #8. Our faculty and alumni have been recognized for their distinguished work through numerous awards and honorific societies including through elected membership in the National Academy of Sciences, and the National Academy of Medicine, the American Academy of Arts & Sciences, and the National Medal of Science.
