Starting July 2022, we inaugurated our first year-long BSD Blood Drive in concert with the UChicago Medicine Blood Donation Center (BDS). At the end of the year, the department with the most donors will be named Blood Donation Champion, and each quarter, one department will be named Department of the Quarter.
Anyone can sign up to support their favorite Department – you don’t even need to be in the BSD to support! The online Donor Availability Form lets you easily chose from a pull-down menu so that your team gets the credit they deserve – first select TEAM BSD, then your department from the dropdown menu.
As of this writing, Pritzker School of Medicine and Dept of Pediatrics are neck and neck for this quarter, but you still have time to catch up. Every donation benefits patients at UChicago Medicine so donors MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Please note: Both O Negative and O Positive blood types are in high demand, so, all type O blood donors should consider making a blood donation as soon as possible. When you donate on a Wednesday, it can be ready for a patient here on Friday.
