Recently, Procurement Services implemented a new mandatory web-based shipping portal, eShipGlobal, for all outbound domestic and international shipments. eShipGlobal will replace the traditional use of FedEx, UPS, DHL, and the USPS for all package shipments across campus beginning in 2023, for all full-time benefit eligible staff.
The benefits of eShipGlobal for BSD shippers are numerous and include:
- Allows for rate shopping across multiple carriers to secure the most cost-efficient option.
- Approval workflow ensures shipments meet all requirements for hazmat and export control.
- Automatic shipment auditing and credit for late, lost, or damaged shipments.
- Direct integration with financial system for billing purposes.
- Provides a centralized view of your department shipments.
Effective January 2, 2023, all legacy FedEx accounts and standing orders will be closed. Consequently, University shippers will need to set up their shipping profile in eShipGlobal via the catalog link in BuySite to ship outbound material with any carrier.
The eShipGlobal portal can be accessed directly, or you can find it as a punch-out form in BuySite under the “Administrative Products & Services” section. You can also create a QuickShip profile for recurring domestic shipments. This feature is most helpful when you ship the same package repeatedly to the same Recipient.
