The FST program is looking for change agents

The BSD is looking for more people to help smooth the transition to new financial systems.

Financial System Transformation (FST) is the multi-year initiative to replace the University’s current Financial Accounting System (FAS) with Oracle Cloud ERP. While this program affects the whole University, as the largest division, the BSD has additional challenges and opportunities. Phase 1 prepared our approach to FST, and Phase 2 started in June with Chart of Account mapping to the new systems.

Change management is critical to future phases of this process since FST will affect aspects of procurement, grants management, and financial processes and operations. The BSD is looking for more people to join us as Change Agents to help smooth this transition.

What is Change Management?

Change management is managing the change of a project - planning and acting, tracking performance, and adapting. The BSD’s Change Management Work Group coordinates with the University Change Management team to manage BSD stakeholder engagement with FST, handle divisional communication about FST, and develop BSD training programs on the new systems and business processes.

What does Change Management mean for you?

If your approach to change is to “adopt, don’t adapt,” or “embrace, encourage, and support change,” you just might be a Change Agent. As a Change Agent, we will ask you to attend educational learning opportunities, help prepare your units for FST, and eventually attend pilot training.

If you are enthusiastic about FST and want to be a Change Agent for your unit, or just interested in learning more about it, please contact Angie Wilson at awilson@bsd.uchicago.edu .

If you’re interested in learning more about FST, please visit the FST intranet page.
