The Financial Systems Transformation (FST) Program is a multi-year initiative to replace the University’s legacy, mainframe-based Financial Accounting System (FAS) and related finance and operations systems with Oracle Cloud ERP. Representatives from across the University, including many colleagues from the BSD, are playing an active role in ensuring the system will meet the needs of campus and is ready to go live in July 2023. To learn more about who is involved, check out the UChicago Representation page on the FST Intranet.
There are many FST workstreams collaborating simultaneously to prepare for a successful go live. Below are a few activities happening right now:
- Continued iterations of testing with UChicago Representatives to ensure the Oracle Cloud ERP system is configured to meet campus needs
- Continued mapping of current state FAS account numbers to the future state (new) Chart of Accounts
- Building retrofits for campus systems that are being retained. Did you know that more than 125 related systems have been implemented in the past several decades to meet the growing needs of the University? Many systems used today may no longer be needed or will require retrofits to integrate with Oracle.
