University of Chicago to launch new Master of Science in Precision Health

The MS in Precision Health is one of the first programs of its kind, applying emerging technologies and methodologies in precision medicine to a broader population health context.

The University of Chicago is launching a new Master of Science (MS) in Precision Health program in Autumn Quarter 2022. Applications are currently being accepted through March 15, with a priority admissions deadline of January 15.

The MS in Precision Health is one of the first programs of its kind, applying emerging technologies and methodologies in precision medicine to a broader population health context. Courses are primarily taught by renowned faculty in the University’s Institute for Population and Precision Health, and cover topics including epidemiology, biostatistics, population health, bioinformatics, genomics, and equity and inclusion. Additionally, students can personalize their studies by choosing an area of concentration: data science, clinical research, or entrepreneurship in medicine. The program can be completed in one year, including a culminating capstone project.

The student body will be diverse in experience, comprised of recent undergraduates, working professionals, and trained clinicians. Graduates of the program will be competitive for advanced careers in clinical and academic research, pharmaceuticals, and medical start-ups, or may go on to a doctoral program or medical school.
